There is a legend relating to Sri Hanuman’s birth. King Dasharata performed ‘Yajna’ for progeny. The king received
the nectar ‘Payas’ from Agni and gave to each of the four
queens their share. Kaikeyi dropped hers by mistake and
the Payas was blown away by Vayu which fell into the
willing hands of Anjani, a she monkey, who ate it .She
gave birth to powerful Hanuman or Anjaneya.
Here Hanuman displays his absolute worship and devotion to
Sri Rama, a saga of faith & loyalty. Sri Hanuman is a
symbol of health, Physical strength and steadfastness. One
of the most loved deities of Indians, he is
worshipped in small temples in every village.
