Originally an ancient temple with a sole statue of Lord Shiva in a dense jungle, the dream to revive the temple was actualised by Late Smt. Girija Devi in 1998. She did not only restructure the temple but carried on spiritual and humanitarian work from temple premises.

In no less time, Mankameshwar Dhaam became a popular religious destination for people of Raibareli district. Inspired by her indomitable spirit and selfless nature, the tiny Temple was transformed into Maa Girija Mankameshwar Temple with a galaxy of Gods and Goddesses.

Village folk during navratras and other religious festivals come in large numbers to take blessings of the deities.
